The Hawaii Group buys POI Employment

 

The Hawaii Group, a human resources company that launched less than two years ago, has acquired POI Employment, a Honolulu staffing services firm, for an undisclosed price.

 

POI Employment, established in April 2005 by Sean Knox, now operates as HiEmployment, a newly created subsidiary of The Hawaii Group, whose other subsidiaries include Hawaii Human Resources Inc., HiAccounting and HiMRK. Knox now serves as president of HiEmployment, which specializes in temporary and permanent staffing for accounting, administrative, medical, industrial and technical companies. It also is developing a staffing segment for nurses.

 

"I have known Sean Knox for 10 years, and my partner Scott Meichtry and I believe his work ethic and integrity are compatible with ours," Matt Delaney, chairman of The Hawaii Group, said in a prepared statement. "He brings over 10 years of experience in the professional staffing industry, and we are excited to give him the tools to expand and grow HiEmployment. Just as HiHR has done in the human resource field, we plan to be in the top five staffing/recruiting firms by the end of our first year."
